Check those cool MEGASCANS – “High-quality real 3D scanned library” of 3DModels, Materials, and other assets! Can be easily importable into UNREAL ENGINE.

Here’s how to install and work with Quixel MEGASCANS and BRIDGE inside UNREAL ENGINE. This demonstration shows the entire workflow for texture adjustments with 3DsMax.

I know it can be a pain to rescale UV’s for already compiled materials in Unreal Engine. Materials like DATASMITH export files, that have a lot of nodes and maps to adjust. You can fix that UV in 3DsMax and then use the same file name to export your fixed model, by using DATASMITH of course.

Then in UNREAL ENGINE, you can just click on “reimport” and your model with be updated. This should be an easy fix for any models that need UV’s readjustment.

Remember to use world units on your UV map inside 3DsMax. The scale of the texture also stated at BRIDGE, when you download you can choose which resolution to download. I’d suggest using 2K for projects that are about to go to VR. And 4k for production purposes. 8K are only if we do 4K video production. In case we are still producing FULL HD 1080p then 4K textures will be just enough for that quality.
