VRAY OCEAN STORM
Hey All! New Phoenix Project. VRay Ocean Storm!
Did something for my uncle’s anchors business. He wanted to film in the storm (hurricane anchoring) but nobody agreed to do it.
So he asked me if I can help. After many tests with Phoenix FD and about 8 weeks of working on this, here’s what I was able to come up with.
I’ve worked for pleasure, not for profit, so it was a lot of fun discovering Phoenix FD Active Bodies and Wind.
The underwater scene was done in Maya and VRay Next the rest is 3Ds Max VRay Next PhoenixFD
Assembly in Nuke – Post in Premiere pro and Lighting with Rain made with After Effect CC plugins.
Credit to MANTUS ANCHORS for guiding me through this storm!
Rendered at 1080p – about 1-2 days for per sequence. I’ve used GPU rendering for the clouds scene, the rest was CPU – BR+BR.
I’ve used some tricks to create custom HDRI and move them to create feeling of motion.
The final sequence was rendered twice – one for the closeup ocean and one for the background. Latter was assembled in Nuke with VRay depth pass as a mask.
More detailed tutorials will be out soon! So stay tuned and follow!
Enjoy)
P.S.
All these project scenes will be a part of our “Ocean Storm” Section at VFX for ArchVIZ
